John G. Richmond is the Co-Director for the MSc Healthcare Management at the University of Leicester School of Business.  Prior to moving into academia, John worked for 10 years in healthcare management in public and private healthcare in Canada and USA.

John achieved his PhD in Business & Management at Warwick Business School (WBS) in 2018 supported by a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Doctoral Fellowship where he investigated healthcare improvement, including how organisations learn and enhance patient safety.  John’s post-doctoral fellowship at WBS was funded by The Health Foundation to evaluate a large-scale transformative quality improvement partnership between five English NHS hospital trusts and not-for-profit healthcare consultancy based in the USA.

John is committed to conducting research with impact. He founded the global Health System Resilience for Extreme Weather Emergencies research network.
